Matthew Brandt at C/O Berlin

Three large-scale light boxes from Matthew Brandt’s Stepping Stone Falls series were displayed in Back to the Future, at C/O Berlin from September 29 - December 2, 2018. The exhibition juxtaposed experimental photographic works by contemporary artists with those by the medium’s 19th-century pioneers, demonstrating commonalities that link artistic production across centuries. Matthew Brandt and Alison Rossiter at High Museum of Art

Photographs by Matthew Brandt and Alison Rossiter are on view in Look Back: 45 Years of Collecting Photography at the High Museum in Atlanta, GA, from October 14, 2018 – April 14, 2019. Matthew Brandt at Detroit Institute of Arts

Matthew Brandt’s Bridges Over Flint, 2016, was featured in Out of the Crate: New Gifts & Purchases at the Detroit Institute of Arts through September 23, 2018. Brandt’s suite of 24 of gelatin silver photographs processed with tap water from Flint, Michigan comments on environmental and political concerns in the city of Flint. Matthew Brandt at 21c Museum Hotel

Multi-media works by Matthew Brandt are on view in Pop Stars! Popular Culture and Contemporary Art at 21c Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City until February 2019. Matthew Brandt at High Museum of Art

A work from Matthew Brandt’s LCD series was on view in “A Fire That No Water Could Put Out”: Civil Rights Photography at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA, from September 18, 2017 – April 29, 2018. The work, which recreates an image from the 2014 unrest in Ferguson, MO, is highlighted among many historical and contemporary Civil Rights photographs from the High collection. Matthew Brandt Lecture at North Carolina Museum of Art

The North Carolina Museum of Art, in Raliegh, NC, hosted a keynote lecture by Matthew Brandt on October 18, 2017, as part of the Click! Photography Festival. Matthew Brandt and Alison Rossiter at Dresden Technical Collections

Works by Matthew Brandt and Alison Rossiter were featured in the exhibition Sun on Paper at the Dresden Technical Collections in Germany from February 10 – May 21, 2017. For the purpose of exploring the historical core of photography—the interplay of light and chemistry, Sun on Paper presented contemporary works made with an array of analogue photographic techniques, from ambrotypes and pinhole cameras to experimental dark room processes and photograms.
